The pavilion will showcase Iran's economy, social development, and culture. It will highlight peaceful coexistence and showcase Iran’s ancient civilization and traditions, its rituals, and its people.
In terms of architectural design, the project consists of 13 discrete boxes, each comprising an exterior threshold and an interior conditioned space, with discrete environmental conditioning mechanisms. These 13 boxes are situated within the allowed maximum buildable envelope of the allocated lot. It is envisioned that the interior-conditioned boxes may be transferred back to Iran after the expo. The mass of the building is divided into a multiplicity of spatial pockets, transforming the space from an autonomous piece of architecture to an urban-like interaction field.
